I have the AQD40A. The alternator siesed up & won't turn. Time for a new one. Anyone have a source (besides Volvo), for reasonable priced alternator that fits rgis engine? Thanks, Ted |

I have a couple I'm going to be e-baying after the holidays. I don't have them in front of me but they are all for late model engines with serpentine belts. I had to convert a couple motors to 24V so I have the take-offs left over. If you think they might work, let me know and I'll dig em up and give you the details. |

That's soon enough Rick, but the engine is a '84 . It's a 2 groove pulley. I"m not sure how I could convert over. I haven't got it off the engine yet. The innermost bolt doesn't seem to want to loosen. I've seen & installed many alternators (mostly auto), but this is the first I've seen "seized up" solid. Hanging low to the bilge, it's rusted badly, making me wonder if it is auto grade. Personal email me if a conversion back to belts is possible. No hurry, Merry Christmas! |
