35 chranci twin kamd 42 w/duoprops. star eng will only start every 4 or 5 turns of the key will start every time when jumping the solenoid,already installed new relay rebuilt starter. key switch bad? |

Jump the solinoid by powering up the small terminal on the solinoid (like i think you have). If that starts the engine every time... your starter is good. Try putting a test light on the signal wire that comes from the key switch. Look for power from that each turn of the key. There may be switches in the signal circut that, for example, don't allow voltage when the shifter is in gear. Get a wiring diagram.
