I recently purchased a 30' SeaSport with twin KAD44s. The engines had around 75 hours on them when I bought the boat, and the starbord engine developed a small oil leak at around 150 hours. The oil is coming off the front of the engine somewhere, with spots of oil getting slung off to the starboard side.
The leak is very slight, and I can't tell where it's coming from. It's definitely not the main seal. Called out the local VP mechanic and he couldn't find the leak either. Told me not to worry about it unless it gets worse.
Any ideas? |

Leaks can be hard to find even for an experienced mechanic. I'd go along with what the mechanic said and in the mean time place an oil absorbing pad, (they sell them at marine stores) underneath the engine and to the starboard side. |
