I have a 5.7 Merc broken valve seat in the # 8 cylinder. I have had conflicting advice on installing a oversized valve seat. Some say it will break again in 20 hours and others say it will be fine to do this. Has anyone had any experience with this and could give me some good advice on doing this or not. The engine was rebuilt 2 years ago and only has 10 to 15 hours on it. If it is better for me to replace the head should I replace both or will I be okay with using the other good head and just installing 1 remanufactured head. Thanks |
