New kid here with a 1988 Chris Craft Sea Hawk with a cuddy cabin. Powered by a 305 SBC with a 4 barrel carb.
I have yet to take up the floor panel to get access to the fuel tank. This boat has not been in the water since 2004 and I need to empty/clean the tank.
Any tips so there may be fewer suprises on the other side of that floor panel?
How big (diameter wise) is the sending unit?
Does the tank remove easily or do I even have to?
I have a new fuel line and filter ready to go.
Engine has been running on this new hose and filter, but I want to ensure as much or all of the bad fuel has been removed from the tank before I hook it up to the new line and filter.
Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Most senders are in a hole about 2 inch diameter. That's the best place to pull hte gas out. Use a stiff tube with the end cut at an angle to get most of it out.
