I have a 1950 cc model k that I cant get to run decent anymore. It starts right up using the choke, but once you take the choke off and try to bring the idle down to less than 1500rpm it dies out, it was running horrible last year, flooding out, hard starting, etc. compression is about 120 on all cylinders. Do I have a vacuum leak some where? I am in the process of cleaning out and rebuilding the carburator, if thats what you call it with the kits available today. this thing ran beautiful until last year, all I have done in the 20 years I have owned it is basic maintenance. Any ideas please? I am now about to replace the intake manifold gasket. Thanks Fred

Be sure you soak it overnight in carb clear (NAPA--a gallon for 20 bucks) then blow out all the tiny passages with compressed air.

You wouldn't believe how many "rebuilt carbs" are merely washed out with solvent then reassembled with new parts. "But, I had the carb rebuilt..." Uh-huh.
