This is very strange but went to pull the boat for winter and would not turnover. Checked voltage to starter, OK took the starter off and is was full of oil in the windings etc.
Any suggestions as to a cause?
LM 318 in my 82' marinette.

Uh-oh! It might be a bad rear main seal in the engine. Has she been using oil, and is there leakage below the bell housing?

Hey just a follow up on this post. Did't want to be rude and not continiue on. Had starter rebuilt and put back in to winterize. Guess I will deal with my issue come spring. Have been watching the posts on a rebuild for my M318's. I think that day is coming soon as I have over 1600 hrs on them now. Lots of great posts Great site
