Hello,
With a D55 duel impeller pump, can I run raw water ( salt) on one side and closed cooling(antifreeze) on other without any chance of the sides mixing? I am in process of changing my dry exhaust over to water cooled and I want to run my block, oil coolers and exhaust manifolds off the existing( antifreeze)keel cooler I have now, but want to raw water cool my new elbows and exhaust hoses.I just want to make sure I can do this with this pump or do I need two diffrent pumps?
Thanks
Jerry Costa

i would say no as there is a plate between the impellers but there is no seal between the two....on mine the shaft clearence thru the plate is about 1/16", more than enough to allow the two water flows to mix.............

It's made to run that way. Strange, but it works.

Thanks
I guess being the impellers are tight against the sides of divider plate the water can't mix from each side at shaft hole.?

Probably that's it. Still, it's a weird and expensive setup.
