starboard motor volt meter fluctuates depending on RPMs (higher RPMs, higher volts). Port motor just stays are one voltage the entire time. Any thoughts?

You should probably start by having the alternator tested.

Also check out condition of major wiring components……such as battery cables, etc.

Actually, I'd start by putting a VOM (volt meter)on the battery as it does this. You should see a steady voltage here. If not, the alternator is acting up. If okay here, look for bad connections going to the gage.
