Can someone tell me how is the engine conected to the tranny?
I am new to marine engines so I am not familliar how or what conects the two together.
The other problem is that the engine is siezed,and I would prefer taking only the motor out if I can.
Any help greatlly appreciated.

I have 440's with straight drives. It is about 5 bolts that join the transmission to the bell housing. The transmission slips off of the engine as the power input shaft slides out of the motor (about 6 inches). In my installation, the rear engine mounts bolt to the transmission. The engine needs to be supported as the transmission is removed.

Sometimes there's a couple of studs in the bottom as well, hiding down there in sneaky fashion.
