I just purchased a boat with twin crusader 350s 270 hp They previous owner replaced the carbs with cutler fuel injection sytems.. I am aware they went out of business in 1998 but was wondering if anyone had any experience with them The CEL light is blinking which says there is an error in the system. I read the book and it looks like a real pain to reset this up.. Any help would be greatly appreciated... The motors run rich and use more gas per house than it should , Thanks Keith |

I have the same system in my twin 350 hp 454s. The blinking light is an error light. It can be put in a mode that will tell you the error. Mine sometimes will do this and says low voltage....from cranking, I reset it maybe twice in three years. Other than that, seems like a great system, runs mint. Cutler was bought out by Holley, ie. competition...they wouldn't have bought it if it were not a threat to them. Most parts can be crossed to holley numbers. HTH. Mark p.s. I have the original manuals, if you need instructions on how to reset the light. |

Thanks Mark. I have all the manuals and have been reading them . I will pull the black cover off this weekend to see what error code it has. I need to increase the cold start fuel and figure out why it runs so rich at idle... hope it didn’t dump the fuel map.. that looks like a painful procedure... I would like to give you a call next time I go to the boat if I can’t figure out the error code.. I heard if you don’t keep 12 volts to the system it loses its memory and has to be reprogrammed. I had the boat plugged in all winter and summer but did shut off the DC. Thanks Again.. Keith |

Thats fine. Go to my site, (profile) and my number is there. I kill all dc power when I leave the boat, it is supposed to save it for seventeen? years. Cold fuel/start enrichment is easy to adjust, was it running ok before? |

Hi Mark I see you are in Plymouth . I am in Sesuit Harbor in E Dennis. I just bought the boat in nov and didnt run it until May. Can't keep salon door open with motors running. Fumes are terrible. It runs ok but the PO use to use 13 gph per motor and I am using 16 per motor. one motor surges at low rpms. I saw an adjustment for that too. I have a 29 Ocean . I run Cape Cod Bay sunset cruise charters . No fishing charters yet.. dont want to wreck the boat. although i bass, blue and tuna fish with it .I will give you a call this weekend . Thanks Again .
