Thanks Foggy,Todd Moore and Fastjeff for the feed back on April 29th.I have afew more questions.
1, Foggy, I should have said each engine has its own fuel tank. there is a line that goes to each fuel pump from each engine. There is also a fuel line that goes from one tank to the other. It is my guess that this would come into play if one tank ran dry and both engines had to run off one tank ? You said I might look at my anti syphon tube. I looked at what I could see ( the tanks are under the floor and there is only about 6,8 inches between the floor and the tank) and I couldn't see any tube. Can you tell me more.
Todd Moore, I'm not sure what a check ball is.
Fastjeff, do you think 6,8 inches is enough to remove the sending unit from my fuel tanks.I looked at a part book and the unit seems fairly long.
Any info will help.
While I'm at it I think I will remove the wires at the top of the tanks and clean them up to make sure they make good contact.

My boat has less space than that, and I got the sender units out.

John,
Sorry for the delay.Spent the last 2 nights cutting trees up from this past storm.Check ball-in my area of Pa. that is what we call a fitting with a stainless steel ball inside letting a liquid flow in one direction only.In this case it lets fuel flow from the tank to the carb, but upon shutdown, will not let the fuel thats in the line drain back into the tank....Todd |
