So I was stranded last night on the mighty Columbia thanks to a broken U-clip that holds the cable to the rack. Any opinions on or experiences on replacing the whole works. I'm afraid the ball seal?? thing Thur the transom may need replaced while I'm at it. Is there a rebuild kit available anywhere?? And idea of the cheapest place for the rack and cable? Thank goodness for the Coast Guard!!! Thanks Todd

ebay if you need to replace. But for a simple
" C " clip? Any home cheapo has rows and rows of them or Loew's i call them blows.

You mean the intermediate rebuild kit?

Maybe this site has it?

I would first get a manual original omc one is best: Seloc # 3400 in right hand corner the next best.

Give this site a call they will maybe have what you need at a great price and the know how to help you get what you need.

I'm not sure about the Intermediate. I don't have my book handy but I was just referring to the part of the cable the go's through the transom and converts to a rod more or less aka ball thingy ma jig. I'm more or less hoping someone knows of an up grade or some such thing. I think the cables seen better days. I've been told by one used parts guy the rack and cable are a package and another said he might have just the cable?? Any more input would be greatly appreciated

I think local searching will be better than the internet for this. All the old rack cables dried up on eBay a couple years ago. haven't seen one for a while.
there is a partsboat for sale near me with that setup, but it's a whole boat.

Hey Keith I sent you an e-mail as I can't seem to figure out how to send a PM. Very hopeful what you have will work.
