The boat has a 15P on it now. What pitch can I go to for more power when there is half a dozen people in the boat? As it is now it takes some time to plane. Would I go to a four blade? Pitch? |

Before changing the prop you need to know what RPM's you can get to at WOT (full speed) OMC recommends that motor to reach 5200-5600 at WOT. If you are in that range then you are already running with a good prop. If you decrease the pitch (this will help your hole shot) then you will probably go beyond the RPM range. If you increase the pitch it will be a real dog coming out of the hole and you'll probably bog the engine. |
