I recently added a san juan fully closed cooling system to my
boat. Engine is brand new. The engine and exhaust
manifold are in the closed system.
Risers are raw water cooled and are not cooling enough for me.
Was looking to find out what the flow rate is for
the impeller in the outdrive. I assume it goes
up at higher RPMs.
If I add a make up pump for the water exchanger and
just pump the outdrive impeller directly to the risers that
should solve my problem.
Just wondered if anyone knew what the water flow rate
is for the outdrive water pump/impeller is.
I'm thinking a 6 gallon per minute pump for the
water exchanger is enough... Thru hull with a side
dump out for the discharge on a garden hose.
Is that clunky? Anyone got a better idea?
