hi dose anybody know what to do next i have a 1992 4.3 it starts up ok ticks over when you put in gear and start going it cuts out after a couple of minutes it will then start up straight away usually sometimes it takes a while i have replaced the coil but still dose the same thing can anybody help please |

Does it misfire as you accellerate or after you level off?
How long has it been since these were replaced:
spark plugs
spark plug wires
distributor cap
rotor |

no misfires just did plugs fuel filter distributor and rotor look in good shape i will ttry the fuel tank vent also guy in marine shop said about points or pickup could get hot after a while and cut out wanted to try something else instead of another $200 on something i dont need thanks for all your help so far |

I'm thinking he means the pickup in the distributor for the electronic ignition? |
