Considering a Baha 26' express cruiser with twin 4 cylinders.....
Owner states that full use of trim tabs when coming up on plane is needed....
Should I expect that this is a sign of an under power condition in such a boat?
Or should I consider such a boat of this size with a single 5.7 v-8 power plant instead?
Or a 454 single engine? (have seen a few Duoprops with that engine on the net, is that a factory engine?)
OR Should I just go with the twin v-8's and have peace of mind?
Looking for a 26' boat with a 10' beam, similar to a SeaRay Amberjack.
Imperial is another manufacturer I would consider.
(Looking for a fishing boat with an enclosed head for the ladies!)
Any advice or suggestions welcomed.
John

I have a cruisers 2670 rouge with a single 454 and a duoprop drive. It is OK on power, but not anything to write home about when it comes to a hole shot. This same boat with twin 4.3 with alpa drives is about the same.

I have a Fairline Mirage 29Ft. Have 2 x AQ145A
with a total weight of 7260Lbs ( Fairlines Data).

I get 28Knots, verified by speed log & GPS using 14x17 counter rotating props with a clean bottom. By the way, I do not have any trim tabs.

Hope this info is of some use

Regards

Nick
