I need to replace a Volvo 5.7GFI Penta engine:
1)Is it possible to install a new Mercruiser 5.7 engine to the existing Volvo Outdrive?
2) If yes to 1), is it a good idea or are there potential problems?
3) If it is both possible AND a good idea, are any special parts or conversions required?

Check out MichiganMotorz.com
They have a good reputation and can set you up with the correct engine, although most all of these are GM based engines and are very similar, if not the same .... (depending on which one you choose).
