I have a AQ 151 Volvo Penta 4 cyl the Head has a bad exhaust Port (worn out) with help from someone with a grinder, I was wondering if a Volvo (Chev 350) would hook up with the outdrive from the 4 banger it is a SP 280 leg. |

not unless you buy the whole donor boat. You need the bellhousing, all bolt ons, outdrive (different gear ratio) etc |

Ahh, the beauty of the AQ series Volvo Penta out drives!!!!! Just about any engine that offers a flywheel cover w/ the Borg Warner bolt pattern, can be made to work if you have a plan for the exhaust system. In short, your answer is YES..... but there will be a few hurdles to jump. **Over-all drive gear ratio will be incorrect..... need a 1.61:1 lower unit. **Exhaust will now need a Y pipe. **Your Shield is a single exhaust relief shield. **The AQ 225 or 260 Y pipe is double relief. **There is a single relief 3" Y pipe that works..... AQ 200B... hard to find. **Any of the standard length SBC fine spline PDS flywheel covers will work. Don, I agree w/ HyStat.... a donor boat would be the way to go. You are just above us here in Portland, Oregon. This area, and Seattle, is Volvo Penta country. Finding parts or a dead B/L Capri donor boat should be easy. |
