I need a new engine and talked to a guy who has a volvo 350 that came out of a bayliner. It was attached to a volvo 290 IO. I need an inboard. Can I just get a chevy bell housing to fit my borg warner and am good to go or are there flywheel issues etc. It is right hand rotation which is what I need. |

All Volvo I/O engines are LH (Standard) rotation.... there is no RH (counter) rotation for the Volvo I/O using the cone clutch. See this: http://www.ebasicpower.com/faq/rotate.htm If you need a RH engine, then some work would need to be done... may be better to build one or check in with MichiganMotorz.com Be sure to click on the menu under "categories". http://www.michiganmotorz.com/ In answer to the "flywheel cover"... Yes, any SBC flywheel cover, w/ the B/W bolt pattern, should work so long as it accommodates the I/B type starter motor mounting. , |
