Hi, can anyone tell me what year of out drive that I have on my boat? It has 3868156 stamped on the ident plate, also has a 1:66 ratio. Which cover do I remove to get at oil plug, the one with volvo penta SX cobra plate on it or the one on the top with the dipstick on it? I want to change the lubricant for the winter. thanks in advance |

Ron, with due respect, pick yourself up an OEM Volvo Penta service manual so that you don't make any mistakes while doing your own maintenance. It will also show you where the oil drain plug is. The oil fill plug will be just above the shift mechanism in front of the rear most cover. Do not remove the top cap where the dip stick is! . |

Yes, thank you. I have purchased a Clymer Volvo manual and it tells me to remove the cover with 3 bolts, as both of the covers have 3 bolts I thought that I would ask before removing anything. I would appreciate info re year of outdrive if possible. thanks again |
