I took off my Volvo DuoProp to lube the shafts. But when I went to put them back on, the rear spline seems to have pulled up. It is now covering the threads I need to put the nut on. This is the larger, outer spline. Does anybody know how to push the outer spline shaft back down?

It would help ME if we could talk in terms of fwd and aft.... (as in fwd propeller/fwd shaft splines.... aft propeller/aft shaft splines, etc.)?

I'm not sure what "seems to have pulled up" nor what "push the outer spline shaft back down" means!

Sorry, but I need to think in terms of when installed in a typical DP drive scenario.

Sorry, it is the fwd prop (larger prop, goes on 1st, larger, outer shaft). The spline shaft has moved towards the open end of the shaft covering the threads I need to put the holding nut on.
