i recently boughta bayliner with an i/0 volvo penta aq131. when i bought the boat it started but now a couple months later it wont start. when i turn the key the starter makes noise but the engine wont turn over. i keep blowing a 60 amp in line fuse that goes from the starter to somewhere and the starter smokes alittle when i keep pushing it to start so i was wondering what my problem was. I figure the starter is good because it is going, the smoke is from my pushing the atarter tpoo much without the engine moving so its putting a strain on the and blows out the fuse. does anyone have any ideas on what can be wrong |

Check that the starting relay is in good condition. It is normally attached to the thermal resettable fuse with the red button. |
