I recently bought a 2000 model Four Winns 180 horizon with a Volvo Penta 3.0 motor and a Volvo Penta SX outdrive. My problem is the lower unit gear oil is leaking from around and through the prop. I changed the fluids (which were very milky) and put some fresh fluid in. It was not until I spun the prop by hand a couple times before it starting to leak. I took the prop off and it looked like all the fluid I just put in was sitting right there. My question is what seals and maybe bearings should I be looking at to replace and should there be any other concerns. It has not been ran since the leak started, also I work for a major off road supplier with a 4000 sq foot shop and a fist full of mechanics and tools. Is this something I can fix on my own or should I take it somewhere.
