I have a 2000 Crownline 22.5LPX with a Volvo Penta 5.7GSI. The boat ran fine first day we had it in the water this year. Second day it started running rich and losing power. Originally was very sluggish on takeoff but running WOT ran good. We changed the plugs, rotor, distributor and fuel filter. No change except now getting some backfiring. Shows no codes. Replaced the map sensor, no change. Still dumping fuel, both injectors look to be spraying same amount of fuel, it blows black smoke and is dumping fuel out captain calls. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |

How many hours? Where are you located; was the boat winterized? Did you run a compression check? What did the old plugs look like? |

I'm in Wichita Falls Tx. The boat has 450 hrs was winterized. No compression check. The plugs had some carbon build up but don't think they were fouled. The boat does not burn oil and oil on stick is clean. I'm gonna put new plug wires on it this evening and after that I am at a loss. |
