Checked everything, the timing is 6 degrees, the strobe timing advances to 32 degrees at 4200 rpm. Accelerator pump works fine. Plugs are gapped correctly and as far as I can tell my points are as well. They are new as well as the condensor and plugs. I do not have a fuel/water separator on the engine, just a clear fuel filter, I noticed a small amount, probably not more than a few drops of water and some sediment in the fuel filter, could this cause a backfire when pushing the throttle? If I push to full throttle, it goes. when at idle, its fine, only when I try and move to about 2-3000 rpm. Thanks. Dennis |

Ralph, is there any reason why you stopped posting on your previous thread? By starting a new thread we lose the history of what has been going on with your engine... http://www.marineengine.com/discus/messages/12487/253065.shtml |

And, did you check the advance weights and springs inside the distributor as I suggested in my last post on your previous thread? |
