Getting ready for Saturday I checked the Outdrive oil level for the first time this season and this is what I see. Man I am hoping this is some sort of fancy VP oil or a real stupid mistake I made. Any help is SO appreciated. If it is H2O contaminated where is the water more likely entering the drive? |

Yes, it's water. More than likely the first seal behind the prop. Not to bad to replace. You really should pressureize the drive to "make sure" where the water is entering the drive. |

What type of drive do you have? |

It's a 270 backed to a AQ120b. Would you pressurize the drive through the fill hole? Empty or full? |

Great thanks guys! El P. I noticed in one of your old posts you suggested filling, taking a trip and checking the oil upon return to see the extent of the leak and or emulsion. I did not check the oil at the end of last season (which was only 6 months ago) so I'm not sure if it was contaminated then. I presume that is valid suggestion in my case. |

I would advise pressure testing as El suggested. If water came in once, it will come in again. Prop. shaft seals are very easy to do. I did mine last weekend in under an hour. Also check your bellows and make sure it is not dry rotted / torn. |
