John, I am not sure about your engine, but I know that it works in the OHC B21, B23 & B230 engines by just capping the fuel injector housings with freeze plugs of the appropriate size.

The fuel injected head on the Volvo 164, B30F engine has the exactly the same size valves as the AQ170B and AQ170C engines. The AQ170A on the other hand has the smaller less efficient intake valves. Larger valves will enable the engine to breath more efficiently because the ports are less restrictive. It is like porting your head. The AQ170A, B, and C engines all have the same cam so the size of the valves makes no difference. The B30F fuel injected engine has a different cam than the normally aspirated AQ170 engines. Bottom line, the head you want to install will work better than the head you had, but you will have to plug the injector ports like stated above and you will also need to install a threaded plug into the water heater hose port in the rear of the head which is not existing in the marine head.
