The stock oil filter I get from my parts place is the Sierra 18-7824 which is fine but I was wondering if anybody sees a problem with using Sierra 18-7876? It is the same thread size and diameter but a much larger filter with a larger capacity. I have the room for a bigger filter. The first time I changed the oil on this boat a couple years ago the filter that came off was larger as well from the 7824 but I don't rememebr the MFGR or number. I think bigger is better when it comes to filtering and cleaning the oil. |

PS: It won't hurt a thing; just needs a wee bit more oil. |

Worked like a charm! For anybody interested in a larger capacity oil filter for a MCM470 go with the Sierra 18-7876. |
