}}}Hi Guys, new on the block and have tried various ways to search topics with a string, for example 'running on', but always seem to just get running or on. I have tried running+on and "" '' and most of the standard options on the search 'engine'. Any help out there to do string searches would be appreciated. Thanks |

Change your terminology; dieseling. One word is easier to get what you want. |

you can also put the phrase in quotes or, my preffered method, use the AND option (second or third down). The problem with the phrase method is not everybody uses the same description. |

Hi Guys; thanks for the feedback, as expected it works for everything except any variations of the phrase 'running on' despite there being a page header containing the phrase albeit in brackets. I've tried everything but for some odd FRED reason it does not pick up the phrase. 4.3L dieseling (running on) Discussion Forum at MarineEngine.com » Mercruiser Sterndrive » Archive through June 30, 2008 » 4.3L dieseling (running on) « Previous Next » |

Shut it down when in gear. If it still runs on then you have a problem. It all depends on the inconsistant fuel that we get today.}}} |

You should not shut a motor down when it's in gear. If it's dieseling, your going to induce it to suck water back through the exhaust manifold and the engine will injest it, right into the crank case. Very expensive fix, especially if your not aware that it's happened, although by not starting, you'll know something's wrong. |
