While installing my drive, I noticed that the rubber washer and some flat washers came away from the front of the trim ram. It seems that they are held in place by a cresent shaped "C" style ring. I re-seated the washer and "C" ring, my question is does the trim ram have to be replaced because this seal has come loose?
It is part number 17,19,and 20
I have included a diagram.

Did it leak any oil? PN 14 and 16 are your seal O rings, so no oil should leak if the seals are OK.
The snap ring must have come unclipped for some reason. You should maybe replace it and the same on the other side with new ones.
