I have a 2006 Tahoe Q4 4.3 It has been dieseling ever since it was new. I have had the service dealer look at it numerous times and they have adjusted the carb a time or two. It hasn't helped a bit. Is there anyone with an answer as to what could be the problem |

high idle rpm,hi engine temp, retarded timing, carbon build-up, Try letting it fast idle a few minutes before shutting it off to disipate the built up heat. |

I was thinking timing as well. I know how to set the timing on a car but is there a certain way to adjust it on the boat? |

depends on the type of ign you have. Some use "Base Timing mode" where you shunt the dist, set the timing mark, remove the shunt. Some T-Bolts have it and some you set like a car. Engine serial number would help |
