I noticed my shift shaft has about 3/8"-1/2" up and down play in it... Is that OK or should I be replacing more parts? |

shift shaft in the lower, shaft in the gimbal , shift shoe in the upper??? |

looking at the out drive in the stand I can pick the shift shaft up about 3/8" |

part # 31 is the shaft but the picture doesn't show what I see coming out of the upper unit it has a foot on it of sorts... I can reach in there an pick up 3/8" |

held captive by washer and cotter pin?
perfectly normal to have some play up and down. |
