I have a 1984 Checkmate boat with 260 horse power I/O Mercruiser 5.7 liter engine. On the power trim and tilt, the wires are frayed and the insulation is falling apart on the gimble at the outboard unit. The reason I need this repaired is that the wires rub together during operation and blow the fuses at the power tilt pump. My question is, do I have to remove the outboard unit to replace these wires or is there another fix you would recommend? |

Ayuh,.... Personally,.... I disconnected it on the Inside of the transom, at the bullet connectors..... I can Feel where the drive is,.... I don't need a Gauge, Or the Trim Limit.... Otherwise,.... Ayuh,.... The Whole outside transom has to come apart... |
