I bought a 2009 Tohatsu 9.8 hp with power tilt and thrust prop about 3 weeks ago. I use the motor on my C22 sail boat and it moves the boat along really well. However, I'm having a problem with the fuel line, the primer bulb will not stay hard and the motor runs out of fuel if the bulb is not pumped during use. I know that this is not how the motor is supposed to operate. I have tried crimping down the "crimps" for the hose connectors but the problem still persists. I'm kind of frustrated because I bought a brand new motor so I wouldn't have to trouble shoot. Any suggestions?

You would take the engine into the nearest authorized service dealer and let them determine the cause and cure it. The problem could be anything from a pin hole leak in the fuel system to a defective prime bulb.
