We lost revs out on the lake. We called out tech, who replaced spark plugs. He said motor was too hot, so we ordered parts and he replaced the thermostat, rebuilt the carbs and checked the water pump. He says it is running at 163F, which he says is still too hot. Is it? And if so what should we try next? Curiously themostat took out looks different than new one, but re-checked part # and we do have correct one. |

The thermostat does not fully open until the engine reaches 159 F...I would say he doesn't know what he is talking about. Thermostat design hasn't changed either. I would take the engine into a different dealer, but that's just an opinion. |
