Finally got my "new" Laguna 16 sailboat underway today. I picked up a 2 stroke 3.5hp for her. Had the carb cleaned and checked out, checked compression, replaced impeller, changed lower unit oil. It starts okay..but at idle she's kind of rough and a bit loud. Get her up to 1/3 or 1/2 throttle or so and she is fine. I'm thinking that is just characteristic of the single cylinder 2 strokes...true statement? |

Normal "characteristic" is a relative term. I find all 1 cylinder engines, 2 or 4-stroke, to be equally rough and loud. |

i am looking for a site where i can find the year from the serial number. it is a 3.5 nissan 2 stroke. ns3.5a ser 309-1 82473. |

go to the nissanmarine.com website. then go to their "contact us" page. Select the "what is the model year of my motor" question, fill out the form, submit it and wait for an answer. It's the only way to determine the year. |
