Thank You TOHATSU GURU. Your help has now got my idle problem straightened out. Runs like a charm!. I wanna be nice to this 5 HP Nissan 4-stroke 2004 model. By using synthetic say Castrol do more harm than good in the crank case? I have one of the first V Twin 14 HP Briggs on my Ingersol tractor been using this oil that now has more hours on it than the Kohler 12 HP with one rebuild on my previous tractor, and still the Briggs runs like new. |

Stay away from synthetic oil in 4-stroke outboards. It is not cost effective and can actually contribute to fuel dilution which may damage the engine. Just use a dino 10w-30 and change it once per year or every 100 hours. |
