is it possible to convert a 25" shaft to a 20" shaft?

if yes, is this a simple procedure?(i.e. just remove spacer, etc.)

if this is done on a new outboard does this affect performance or void warranty?

Yes

Yes

Question doesn't make sense. The only reason you would change the shaft length is because it has to be done for the application.

No, if an authorized dealer does it. Otherwise yes.

thanks for quick reply, very much appreciated!

i am in the process of buying boat/motor from local dealer. the boat requires 20" shaft motor but dealer told me yesterday there is a 4-5 week wait.
the dealer called me today saying his distributor had a 25" shaft and he would convert it to speed up the deal.

i am okay waiting 1 month for 20" but if the conversion is no big deal and end result is the same (No Extra Weight) then its all good!
