My DF6 starts OK, but as soon as I increase revs it dies. I didn't drain or treat the fuel when I laid up over winter so I am suspecting a fuel supply problem.I checked the main jet and that was clean. What else to check?

If you checked the main the jet than you had the carb apart? How did it look inside? |

Didn't actually take the carb apart.Just took the cover off the float chamber but that looked clean.

I had one that had a warped mounting flange. Kept sucking air.
The bad about those is they a fixed low speed mixture screw. You have to pop the brass plug out that covers it to clean properly. You can also richen up a little too.
I would clean it chk the flange and reset low speed mixture screw. |

Did you find the problem?
I have a DT6 6HP 2 stroke Suzuki outboard that runs great at full throttle but stalls at 2/3 speed and won't start in idle. I started the engine at full throttle, backed it off until it almost stalled, kicked it in gear. Then cranked it back up to full throttle and ran it for 2 ½ hours.
I have tried adjusting the reed valves and put the carburetor on a 4hp Suzuki engine and that engine ran just fine. I retired after 50 yrs as a heavy duty mechanic but have little experience with gas 2 strokes.
