My 07 25 hp is leaking fuel from a port next to the pisser on the side of the engine. Runs poorly as well as causing gas to laeak into water. Carbs O/H in March of this year. Treat the gas with fuel stabilzer. Late date of operation was about a month ago.

Could be that a carburater float valve has failed or stuck open. Gas would overflow and drain out a case drain and engine would run poorly due to over-rich mixture.

Thanks for the quick reply. Is this a common problem ? This engine has had a few nagging issues since I bought it new; runs rough, poor starting. Had the carbs redone hoping to clear the problem up. Now this happens...

Had it happen once long ago, third carb of my Yamaha 90 TLRP.

Disconected fuel line while flushing and too long later, found one float varnished to bottom of float bowl.

Since then, I have used stabilizer in fuel.

I would not consider it a common problem, but your discription fits.

Run with cover off and you should see it.
