Sqeak From Eng When Hot

Author Message   Bill Tsantekidis New member Username: billyt Post Number: 1 Registered: 11-2009 Posted on Monday, November 02, 2009 - 11:12 pm:    Hi Guys I have a F80 4 stroke Yamaha motor and it develops a slight sqeak intermitently after about half an hour to one our of use, it sounds like belt squeak but i have placed a touch of lube on the belt while it is making the noise but have not been able to shut it up, i have also run the motor in a barrel but it seems i cant get it warm enough... any ideas on what it could be   Robert Graham Advanced Member Username: grahamr Post Number: 116 Registered: 04-2009 Posted on Tuesday, November 03, 2009 - 08:21 am:    Could be the drive shaft bushing, drop lower unit and look up in there, maybe a dab of grease, maybe a new bushing.
