I have a 1986 150 J Pro V. Bought used. Boat in Maine use 20 hours a year. New 9.9 Honda kicker. Two cylinders low pressure. Is this engine worth the effort to work on, rebuild? Seems to be reliable and bullet proof. thanks |

THAT 150 IS TUFFER THAN NAILS. PROVIDED YOU CAN GET THE POWEREAD OFF THE MIDSECTION AND EVERYTHING COMES APART OK, THEN I WOULD SAY YES I REALLY LIKE THOSE ENGINES PERSONALLY |

I have the exact same motor. I had it rebuilt this summer. The only issue was finding Yamaha factory repacement pistons. They were not manufactured at that time and were not going to be made until the fall. |
