1992 yamaha 200txrq,when first prime it the ball get hard,after run a little it get a little soft,but not real soft or flat,can be squeez it down,what would u look at first,thanks.

Maybe that is the way it SHOULD be and there is nothing wrong.

The primer bulb is simply a manual fuel pump!It saves cranking the starter to fill the carburetors.When it goes hard you have filled the carburetors and the bulb has done it job.After that it does not matter.Have fun with the boat.

ikia,thanks for the tip,and like to ask u one question,is that right if the prime ball get hard after few pump,that mostly mean the fuel prime system is fine?( mean hose no air leak,fuel pump good,what do u think.

When the bulb goes hard you have filled the carburetors, actually more than the fuel pump does.That is why you can squeeze it some more after the motor has run.It does check that the fuel pump diapragm is not ruptured.It does not mean that the fuel prime system is fine as that is seperate.
