DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THIS ENGINE HAS A STARTER RELAY.THIS SMALL SQUARE BOX DOWN AND BEHIND STARTER SOLENOID CLICKS,BUT NO CRANK.HAVE TO CROSS STARTER SOLENOID TO START.

John, what you are referring to as the Solenoid, Yamaha calls the "relay" - that box you are calling the relay is what they call the "relay assembly".

It is listed under Yami part numbers 6H1-81950-01-00/6H1-81950-00-00/6H1819500000 and retails for 132 bucks...

If jumping your "solenoid" gets her to start it is most likely the "solenoid" that is shot, not the box - and it's cheaper to replace, under 50 bucks - yami part number 6G1-81941-10-00

Thanks graham for your input.I was thinking the relay assy. clicking might mean it had a burnt contact or something.I am going to put a solenoid on it and go from there. this engine only has 20 hours on it!But it has bee run every year for a short time
