Hello,
I have a Yamaha four stroke 9.9 HP. After starting in runs smoothly, but after a few minutes it just stops (like it ran out of fuel). I checked fuel lines, tank etc. and this all seemed fine. Further: the Yamaha does not respond very smoothly to more or less throttle, it stutters a little or responds late.
Is anyone familiar with the problem or does someone know what the reason of stopping could be?

Gerben,
Try squeezing the primer ball while running. If the problem stops, the problem may be the fuel pump.
Yamahas have very small idle and high speed orifices. This accounts for the fuel efficiency, but they are very susceptible to clogging. You may have to take the carb off and clean out the orifices (jets).
