I have twin Yamaha 130's and the port engine begins to lose RPM at cruising speed. It happens all of the sudden, and you can go WOT and it still will be at 3500 rpm or so with the starboard running 42-4500 at 3/4 throttle. Engine runs fine when brought back to idle. I have replaced the plugs, de-carb the engines with Seafoam, checked compression. All seems good-no water present in ff either. Any ideas what might cause this? Thanks for your help!

OK, that is next on the list to try. Going to meet my mechanic at the lake to water test Sat. I will try then. He had mentioned trying that same thing. I checked the tank vent today by blowing into it to pressurize it, then it released the air. I believe this means that the vent is not blocked. Thanks for all your help, I will report back after this weekend!

OK, we cleaned all of the grounds and switched the coils to the other engine. After that we thought it was fixed. Next trip offshore, the problem occurs after 3 hours running time. This is an improvement, but still not fixed. The oil light flashes too, but I am not sure if the problems are related. Last time the oil light flashed I switched the sensors and it stopped for about 3 mos. Does not appear to have oil problem, but maybe sensor problem. When the problem occurs, the timing appears erratic. Pulled all 4 plugs after problem was happening - 3 look normal 1 looked much cleaner. Any suggestions? Mechanic wants to do a second water test.

Replaced fuel pumps - problem still occurring. Ended up the problem was trash in carbs. Mechanic rebuilt the carbs and problem is fixed.
