hi all got mi 90 hp chrysler running,seems to run nice,however when i fist turn the ingniyion switch on i have to wait approx 50seconds ,then the cdi box sends out a high level pitch noise,then i get a spark. basikly no high level noise pitch no spark,but motor runs nice and cdi boxes gives out a high level pitch while running. can any members advise if this is normall or is the cdi unit faulty. thanks Steve |

Steve, My 4 cyl '84 90Hp Chrysler had no delays or noises from the cdi units. I can't imagine why yours does. DS |

Hi Dave thanks for the info,ive always been into cars & bikes and this is my first venture into outboards & boating. i thought it a little strange as well,but the units sparks great,starts first turn of the starter,but i think il look for a good second hand unit just in case. thanks Steve |

Steve it isnt normal for the cdi unit to do that. Try an after market unit (new) |

ok thanks will do,i did think the delay was normal,the only good thing is it runs for bench testing the motor. thanks Steve |
