hi all got mi 90 hp chrysler running,seems to run nice,however when i fist turn the ingniyion switch on i have to wait approx 50seconds ,then the cdi box sends out a high level pitch noise,then i get a spark.
basikly no high level noise pitch no spark,but motor runs nice and cdi boxes gives out a high level pitch while running.
can any members advise if this is normall or is the cdi unit faulty.

just wondered if anybody could confirm that my 50 sec delay &cdi buzz is normal?

My 4 cyl '84 90Hp Chrysler had no delays or noises from the cdi units. I can't imagine why yours does.

thanks for the info,ive always been into cars & bikes and this is my first venture into outboards & boating.
i thought it a little strange as well,but the units sparks great,starts first turn of the starter,but i think il look for a good second hand unit just in case. thanks Steve

Steve it isnt normal for the cdi unit to do that.
Try an after market unit (new)

ok thanks will do,i did think the delay was normal,the only good thing is it runs for bench testing the motor.
