I have a 1984 Bayliner Trophy bass boat. The engine runs fine. My original aluminum prop is bent a bit so I was going to get it redone but I found a comprop that was much cheaper. The deciding factor was that I have been fishing a shallow, rocky river so I decided to go with the Composition prop because it's designed to break if it takes a hard strike to save the lower unit. I'd just use my aluminum as a back up. I loaned my boat to my brother and he promptly ran into rocks and broke the flukes on the new comprop. My original prop had the flukes slightly bent back so they didn't bite as much as they should have. The hole shot was great but top end was kind of slow. The comprop I purchase was a 13X19. Top end was very good but the hole shot wasn't all that great. My question is what size prop am I supposed to use on the boat. It's a 16 foot Bayliner Trophy bass boat with an 85 HP engine. Nada says it weighs 1490. Thanks in advance...... |
