I have a 1987 50hp force, it was running great one day the next day the motor would not rev past 3000 rpm and not get up on plain. Any suggestions of what I can look for. Things I have tried, cleaned the carb, new plugs, 90psi compression in both cylinders. One of my condensers is cracked, but still has spark through the plug. Please help thank you

I am not a machanic but last year I was driving my boat along at full throttle and all of a sudden it droped to half power and took for ever to plain. It would run but only had spark on two cylinders, so I thought it was the coils. turned out to be the stator. (I Replaced stator and trigger while I had the fly wheel off). Also, my motor is a 4 cylinder 125 hp force. I knew That the two cylinders were not working because I could have the motor running and pull off the two spark plug wires and there was no change in the motor, but If I pulled one of the other two wires then the motor would stop instantly. I have no Idea how good this is on your motor but you might be able to test this way if you are only running on one cylinder.

I do not know enough about stators to help you on that one. Hopefully someone else has some info they can help out with. Sorry.
